Jesus Christ "Hates America"
(A Parody)
A well-respected conservative website has declared that Jesus
Christ, the Son of God, is an "America Hater in league with
the Islamofascists," and a "self-loathing Jew."
The declaration was made on Frontline Magazine, whose editor,
Davey Warbuckz, struck out against the so-called Prince of Peace
in a typically-blunt Christmas Day broadside:
"By refusing to back our President in his crusade against
Islamofascist terrorism, Jesus Christ has proven, once and for
all, that he is an America Hater in league with the Islamofascists.
"This is not a time for anyone who values our rights
and freedoms to be questioning the President. And if he was really
the Prince of Peace he would be squarely in favor of our War
on Terror."
Mr. Warbuckz's comments were launched in response to Christ's
admonition, in recent sermons, to not fight the War on Terror
"in my name."
"My call to turn the other cheek need not be a suicide
pact," Mr. Christ said: "But if you must fight to protect
your country, then you do so only for your country, and not for
your God."
Christ has objected to wars being fought for "God and
Country" since Vietnam.
Warbuckz also castigated Christ's opposition to how Israel
conducts its own war against Palestinian terrorists, calling
Jesus a "self-loathing Jew who hates the existence of the
modern state of Israel, and wants to see it destroyed."
This is not the first time that Mr. Christ's views on the
War on Terror have caused controversy, even among self-professed
Christians.
He won bipartisan acclaim for telling the Rev. Jerry Falwell
"get thee behind me, Satan," following Falwell's blaming
of 9/11 on everyone but Osama bin Laden. However, His gentle
reminder to President Bush that "my Father speaks to everyone,
and not merely you" angered many, as did His warnings about
trying to convert Muslims at gunpoint.
Regarding Mr. Warbuckz's attack on His person, on His day,
Christ declined to comment directly upon the attack, saying only
that He loved Warbuckz, and would pray for him.
"My door will always be open to him," Christ said.
Mr. Christ has been a lightning rod for controversy ever since
He returned to Earth in Brooklyn, in 1963, to start a mission
to feed and house the urban poor.
After being initially warmly received, His constant critiques
of American foreign and domestic policy made Him unwelcome in
almost every White House since Johnson. President Carter was
a notable exception.
Christ has always been too in favor of social programs, too
opposed to military spending, and too "soft" on Communism
for Republican tastes. Meanwhile, 60's Democrats found Him too
anti-segregation, while the modern, more egalitarian party has
been "embarrassed" by His staunch opposition to abortion.
"I am that I am," has been Mr. Christ's sole response
to such criticism.
